I'll be bringing the mount back in tonight or tomorrow, as I want to find out why CdC / EQMOD wasn't connecting.

Have you changed the USB/Com port that the cable is plugged into?

I don't think so.

It *was* working, though I had to switch USB ports, but I heard lots of connect / disconnect warning from Windows. so I really need to sit down with it in a warm lighted room and sort out what's going on.

If you had to switch USB ports, that has probably changed the COM port number too - have a check, as you say, in a warm lighted room!

Problem solved.

EQMOD was expecting the 'scope to be connected to Com3, when it was actually on Com7.

I could have sorted it out in a couple of minutes if it hadn't been dark and cold. Argh!

For newbies like me it is quite soul destroying although I suspect it isn't any better for the more experienced hands!

Perfect - the simple solutions are always the best! Damn annoying when it happens in the dark though.....

TBH I thought at the time it was a COM port problem but couldn't see where to set it in the EQMOD control panel.

A nice warm, light, room without the pressure of trying to get it running quickly was all I needed.

Was clear in Nottingham last night after 19:00.  And I have the worst cold ever and cannot be outside.  Typical!

I'm thinking of removing my mirror & replacing with a 60watt bulb. It would make a better job of being a novelty lamp than it is at a telescope at the moment.
