Jupiter at opposition

I can't believe it is cloudy tonight. I spotted Jupiter two days ago, I could see the bands clearly even though my telescope is only 5'.

By the way, I have an application on my iphone that shows where the Galilean moons are (and where they will be). It is called JupitersMoons. I am not sure if you can find it on Android.

Raining hard here, not a chance of seeing anything. Seems that its either cloudy or raining ever since I got my 1st scope at the end of October, frustrating.

That app does exist for Android, it is also part of a larger app called Night Sky Tools - Astronomy which has a lot more detail information.

Yeah I know how you feel, really itching to get a look at jupiter through my Skywatcher 130p. Hoping for cold weather in January. Have you downloaded a copy of Stellarium?

Downloaded yes. Very good program and also got 'turn left at Orion' but there's only so much you can stand without going outside though.

I just need a bit more patience

I'm not sure of the exact time of opposition but I did manage to get out and view her for about an hour and a half tonight. Was brilliant even with the slight winds.

Lucky you but I guess it was freezing last night. Too bad the Packers lost.

Thank you. I see a Night Sky 2 by iCandi apps, I wonder if they are the same
