Eyepieces

Recommended Posts

most telescopes are 1.25 inch focusers, but adapters can be bought to make different sizes fit. If you're buying ones, check the specs of your scope and the eyepieces, but as mentioned above they come in standard sizes, so different brands of eyepiece will fit different brands of scope :)

I ask because I have a Celestron scope, about 75mm. This has some eyepieces I thought I could use, but sadly they must be the smaller 0.965mm size. They dont fit anyway. So I will hav to purchase some different ones to fit my Skywatcher. According to the post about eyepieces I could use a 6mm and a 16mm one. I dont have much spare cash but would like some decent ones. Any recommendations. Are the Skywatcher ones any good, should I replace the lot gradually?

Hey Gary,

The forum has a tonne of info in answer to your question.  Take a bit of time reading up with your budget in mind.  By what you say probably replace gradually as your finances allow, why rush  ?.  There are eyepieces out there on the first and secondhand market that will fit the bill and perform very well. BST are discussed again and again with very high regard by very experienced users.  I have not used one but trusted forum users have and rate them highly.
