I still remember being glued to the TV during Xmas, whatching the grainy B&W image come through from the moon. I think it was the only time our parents allowed the TV to be on on Xmas during the dinner

I remember watching this moon landing live with Cliff Michelmore, James Burke and Patrick Moore in 1969 as presenters of this historic event !

Fascinating, I remember looking up at the moon that Christmas and wondering what those guys were seeing. Then that image came out so we all had a taste. It was a superb photo and one if I remember was hailed as a world changing image by some of the press. We still have wars and kill each other so it didn't really change a great deal in hindsight
