Great statement there about science is far better for mankaind, a bit of a unfortunate paradox because mankind is more inventive during times of war  :smiley:

You're absolutely right there.  I mean, look at the progress made during and after WW2.  We went from bi-wing planes to jet engines in only a few years.  Then of course came the ability to blast stuff into space.  Must've been a pretty exciting time . . . aside from all the Nazis and the constant threat of nuclear war for about 50 years . . .

Congrats to China. At least one country on the planet is still interested in going to the Moon. And as the only country with any real cash it could only ever be China anyway. Impossible to see how the US, even if they wanted to, could rejoin the space race taking into account their financial situation. They would have to take a low interest loan from China and then buy all the kit cheap from China too. Times have changed.
