Hi just dreaming of someday converting my old shed and I had a thought about the roof and I wondered if anyone had ever used  an old roll up garage door the type with the small narrow segments that would be able to run in the original metal runners and cope with the angle at the peak of the roof and would roll up off to one side of the shed either manually or using the or the original electric motor

I think it might be rather difficult to weatherproof this when it's not vertical.

That would be my gut feel too.  But I'm sure that when I was first researching ideas for my own observatory a couple of years back I came across one that had a roof that rolled up.  I've tried a quick Google to see if I could relocate it but had no joy.
