cables for eq5 syn scan

Hey guys,

Ordered myself a new scope, mount and SW Powertank. Just wondering, does all the cables for use come included or do I need to get something seperate?

Might it not be better to direct the question to your supplier ... ?

In theory it should come with a power cable , handset and handset  lead , along with a serial lead for updating the handset firmware.

If it's new or S/H I would expect these to be included ...

It would be better but didnt want to wait for a reply and i know you guys on here are quick with replies. It turns up tomorrow so needed to know do i can play with it!

It should come with a power lead that will fit the powertank, so you should be ok for power.  You'd only have a possible problem if you'd ordered a mains PSU.  They generally wouldn't come with a suitable cable.

Thanks for the help. Cannot wait!!! Forecast is for cloud for the next few days but thats ok.. ill get my xmas shopping done while its cloudy

Expect many a question in the near future though i would like to suss most things out myself!

Best way to start with , they're not as complicated as some make out , just go through the manual slowly , step by step and see how you get on ...

I have just received a new NEQ 5 and it came with cigarette lighter socket power cable. This will enable you to power the mount from the power tank. It was not a daft question as no mention of the cable is made in the list of accessories in the advert. I wish I had asked it before you. I ordered a power cable at the same time as I ordered the mount but from a different supplier, only to find that the mount is supplied with one when it turned up. Oh well.

There is no such thing as a stupid question!!!!!!!!!

I had terrible trouble with a supplied cable. There were numerous power cuts, traced down to the cable jack insert into the mount. I bought a suitable cable and fixed a small clip to the side .

The cable has no movement for the last couple of inches and now presents no problems,

Well it arrived! Absolutely lovely bit of kit. I also got the small powertank and the correct polar scope... only to find it has a polar scope already fitted! Oops!

All is good and working correctly.. now i just need clear skies!
