moriniboy
After nearly missing the side of the ep tray with my Televue plossl the other night I decided to have a go at illuminating it.I already had a white led battery light left over from a previous project so 5 mins later it was in bits and 2 layers of red acetate later it was night vision friendly.Next how to attach to the tripod. This was acheived very easily using velcro tape fastened to the main pillar fastening bolt and the back of the light. And here is the light in place, very effecive.I suppose you could also use a red led bike light instead. glowjet
To be quite frank I would have thought some of the Astro accessory manufactures could have given a thought to night safety. A compact red LED unit, that could easily clip to the bottom of each of the mounts three legs, would not go amiss, those that run for ages on a small cell battery. they could, of course, be used on all sorts of things, cables, hardware, bags etc.
Davey-T
Thinking I might get some of these to hang on tripod legs etcDavehttp://www.maplin.co.uk/p/red-led-clip-on-light-n31qh
moriniboy
Not sure but perhaps the button cells in these smaller lights would be quite expensive and not last very long (especially in cold weather)Luckily the one I have used has 3 x AAA batteries which should last for ages.
