2" EP recommendations for a Celestron Nexstar 8SE

Hi All

I m looking for recommendations or advice from those with experience of 2" EPs that would go well with a Celestron Nexstar 8SE. I m getting a 2" XLT Diagonal from the US (my brother picks them up on business trips ) and want to know some sensible BUDGET 2" EPs that I should consider.

I m primarily after those in the 12-25mm range, I already have a 32mm SWAN from Pulsar Optical.

I would look carefully at the Baader Hyperions:

They work in either 1.25 inch or 2 inch, cover the focal range that you are interested in and work pretty well by all accounts. They are reasonably priced to boot

I have a Celestron Nexstar 8i OTA and use a 2" diagonal with a 21mm Baader Hyperion in 2" mode. Its a awsume combination. Thats my recomendation.

In my NS8 I use Baader Hyperions 24mm, 13mm and 8mm - awesome views!

Hi Guys

From recollection the Hyperions have a 1.25" bottom tube, does this unscrew when used in a 2" diagonal?

Also I have a 6.3 reducer, have any of you used the combination of a reducer and 2" EP to get the most out of DSOs?

It does have a 1.25" bottom tube but there is no need to unscrew it to use in a 2" diagonal - it misses the mirror (in mine at any rate!)

If you do unscrew it, it changes the lens completely as it has a lens in it - this is a way of getting two lenses for the price of one. FYI the 24mm does not have this feature.

However using the Hyperions in 2" mode in a f10 scope works very well!!

The moonfish UWA 15mm is good, and the GSO 26mm is suprisingly good for the money.
