Solar transits

Is there a website, method or similar to predict solar transits?  I was thinking maybe spending some time in front of Stelarium on fast forward...  I know there is a better way, but what is it?

For some strange reason I fancy catching some planet or other in front of the sun in white light solar viewing  :embarassed:

Many thanks

The only planets that transit our Sun are Mercury and Venus. You have missed the last Venus transit and the next will be 11th December 2117 - yes over 100 years from now. The transit of Mercury is more often with the next on the 9th May 2016. Because I don't know your location I cannot say whether it will be visible to you or not. You can put the date into Stellarium with your location to check it out.

I was lucky enough to see the Mercury transit in May 2003 - see attached photo

Plus I saw the Venus transit in June 2004 from the UK and travelled to California to see the 2012 transit - photos attached

I attach the NASA website which gives you more information on the Mercury transits - http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/transit/catalog/MercuryCatalog.html
