Its just past 8:30 in Newcastle and its just started raining & signalling the slightly premature end of the stargazing year.

Not the end of the year for me yet

I'm counting the astro year to the last day that we get astronomical darkness which is the 4th May here.

Unfortunately from then until Aug 8th we don't get proper darkness here for about 3 months. Think I'll have to start some solar observing then or I'll go mad (well, madder lol)
