DSLR & RGB channel's

ok so im in cs6 and looking at the RGB channels i was wondering is there a way that you can work on them separately to the others? i cant seem to find a way.

Click on the 'eye' icon to turn on/off the different layers.

Most 'photo' progs like Photoshop/ PaintshopPro etc have a RGB channel splitting option - then you can 'enhance' each channel then recombine them back as RGB but it's not easy to quick results.  Good luck

sorry i should have said i would like the channel as a layer is there any way to do that?

Duplicate the channel into a new document. Change the image mode of the new document to greyscale. Duplicate the layer of the new document into the original document. This'll give you the channel as a layer. If you reverse this process, you should be able to re-combine the processed channels.
