say i had 2 hours of data from a ed80 and 2 hours from a 150pds but used the same camera do i just load the raws into DSS? ive no idea what to do just curious as i would like to double up on data with my friend

I'm assuming by RAW you're talking of DSLR (OSC) data . Do the preprocessing of each set first. Then you'll need to align/resize the 2 stacks to each other . RegiStar is the best for this although I've also had good results with Pixinsight.

I use Registar for exactly that and it just works. I am not sure how DSS would cope.

I am not sure if DSS can resize images, it might only align and rotate. If you load the files from each scope into separate groups, then select 'mosaic' from the stacking parameters and it might work.
