1st Milky Way test pics

Recommended Posts

Took my first real pics with my new 14mm Samyang last night and I gotta say that for a 'budget' lens I'm very impressed!

This was taken at around 10pm last night, astro darkness wasnt until 10.30 and the moon was just rising at the time so the MW wasnt as impressive as it usually is from this location but it was still a good test run for camera (6D) and lens.

I was testing a 6D last light also, great camera :)

This is great, there's a lot of detail there, the sky looks less than perfect :( but the dust lanes are clearly visible :)

Yep I'm very impressed with the 6D, I've been comparing high iso files from my old 5D2 and as soon as you push the cameras over 4000 iso the 6D really shows how good it is.

The Samyang also sems to live up to its reputation as well. :)

The location was half way down a cliff path to the beach, usually around mag 6 but was probably alot less when I took the pic.

Very nice image. What settings were you using?

Thanks.
