Beyond_Vision
Lovely clear night on Monday and the first chance to try out my new set up without the Moon getting in the way. Heres a single 16 minute guided exposure of the North American Nebula taken on my Canon 400d at ISO 400 on my Antares 80mm APO. A Baader UHC filter and a WO 0.8x focal reducer field flattener was used. With diffraction spikes(click to enlarge)Without (click to enlarge)RegardsKevin
CELESCOPE
Beautiful image Kevin, first class guiding as well , not to sure on the added spikes , i started off using them but have now made them less prominant , but rest assured that is a lovely image .Rog

Beyond_Vision
Thanks for the nice comments Part of me agrees with Rog and part of me with Martin. I'm always edgy about adding things to an image that were never there in the first place, but I do like the look of images taken by Newtonians etc. I have posted both so that you can see the unadultered image.RegardsKevin
CELESCOPE
yes , i think i like the second one best Kevin, sometimes the spikes do look nice , and yes natural spikes do look better , unless you are Noel Carboni, who has a special process for his own spikes and not the ones on his tools.Rog
