Hi Ron, I agree with John, the 8-24mm is better than the 7-21mm, I have had the opportunity to try both. However, don't be swayed by the 'StarGuider' label, they have nothing in common with the more popular BST's that you are familiar with. If I were you, I would give the zoom a miss in all honesty.

I have the TS 7-21 labled one and hardly use it for anything anymore, just quick glimpses of the moon or daytime observations.

A 26£/32€ (incl. Shipping) UWA eyepiece with 66 degree apparent view of field - or two - are what I recomend these days. Despite the eyepiece switching and no smooth zoom, the wide angle views are amazing and more fun in the long term. Not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to find and keep objects in the view,
