Vixen SP capabilities

How does my venerable (but near mint) SP compare to more modern mounts?

I intend to build a fixed pier in the garden (for imaging) and was wondering if i'd need to upgrade to another mount or not. I am very fond of my SP but would 7kg be too much of a load for it?

I like my SP too!

Official load is 7.5 kg I believe.

I've had a 12" F5 on one with very little modification for stability.

The original Vixen Super Polaris brochure/user guide claimed up to 30 minutes of tracking with a 300mm focal length (a camera lens is mentioned in the text rather than a scope) but then Vixen is always conservative in its specifications.

Vixen are a rare breed of mount, they can carry above their claimed payload with no problem. 7Kg will be no problem for it.
