Bit of fun... SH2-173

Having ended a frustrating recent session faffing about with Focusmax yet again, at 12.30am I swung my scope to SH2-173 for a peek - this target is claimed to bear a slight resemblance to the face of a grumpy old man. Admittedly it's no oil painting, but it was a bit of fun processing to bring the grumpy face out. The data's noisy due in part to the repeated haze we've had here in Devon on these hot nights. This is just 15 x 10 min H-alpha subs.

I too turned my scope to this one last night Martin, but I felt I was hampered by the moon as my image has turned out rather noisier than I would have liked. I think it looks more like a skull - This is a tricky target, I think you've done it well.
