Many Globs Ago. . .

Recommended Posts

Finally decided to take the dob out of cobwebs after a long hiatus. Have been very busy transitioning from high school into college so this was a welcome respite. Skies cleared and I decided to take the dob out. Unfortunately my backyard and trees limits me to the Southern sky but it was worth it. 5 Globular clusters and a nebula were checked off my list. Messiers 4, 6, 7, 8, 54, and 70. M6, the butterfly cluster, struck me as particularly mesmerizing. It's beautiful butterfly core evokes a subtle beauty. M54 also was quite interesting, although it reminded me I need to buy a 9mm lens for closer examinations. All in all, a very satisfying return to stargazing.
