Sun Dog - evening rainbow?

Hi all

Don't know what this is called but it is truly beautiful. Sitting out with a glass of wine, chewing the cud with my wife, and saw this, astounding. An iPhone pic doesn't do it justice. Nature, huh? Good to be alive!

its a very nice image of a sun halo, very nice capture. They are produced by the ice crystals in cirrostatus clouds high (5–10 km, or 3–6 miles) in the upper troposphere The particular shape and orientation of the crystals is responsible for the type of halo observed. Light is reflected and refracted by the ice crystals and may split up into colors because of dispersion. The crystals behave like prisms and mirrors, refracting and reflecting sunlight between their faces, sending shafts of light in particular directions.

images very seldom show the true beauty of nature

Seem to have seen a lot of Sun Dogs and Halos recently(forgot Halo was the correct term, thanks) truly wondrous. Nice to get what appears to be a bit if a summer!:)

Lovely evening, Saturn fair, but not great, seeing dodgy.
