Bart
Hello allVery quick question on Pentax EPs. Is there a big difference in optical quality between the above or just FOV. Thinking about a very high powered planetary EP and while I like the ES 14mm 100* barlowed (x260 when conditions allow) I wondered if the XF 8.8 would better it (x210) Couldn't justify the XW I think. Any input greatly appreciated as usual. Thanks in advanceBarryBarry
michael.h.f.wilkinson
I have the 8.5mm XF and it is superb. The viewing comfort is great, 60 deg FOV is sufficient on planets, and it holds its own wedged between the 7 and 10mm XWs I have. The latter have a 70 deg FOV
rowan46
http://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=1438However I think the xw is even better
michael.h.f.wilkinson
The XWs have the edge, but it is slight. The XF8.5 is better than the Radian 8mm I used to have.
Bart
Thanks folks, may have to think about that so ....... Not that there are any planets terribly well placed currently. Saturn pretty low at the momentBarry

michael.h.f.wilkinson
High praise indeed Michael.Alan.They are each others equal in almost all respects, but in terms of colour neutrality and transmission, the XF is quite clearly ahead of the Radian
