Iridium flare in Leo Minor

Just saw a very bright iridium flare in Leo Minor (about ten minutes ago). Must be one of the brightest I think I've ever seen. Very impressive.

Think I caught it too James. I was just taking an arm break from watching the last of Mercury with the binos when it caught my eye.. it was bright.. the sky's still quite light so not that much else really naked eye then.. apart from Venus which went down a while before that.

I shall check up tomorrow on Heavens Above, but I'm sure it was an iridium flare. It was very similar to all the others I've seen, just a lot brighter. Quite probably brighter than Venus, I'd say.

Just checked up. There was a flare predicted for 23:42 last night for this location, with an estimated magnitude of -7.6. I think that'll be it then.
