How accurate does the laser collimating have to be ie set laser up against a target approx distance from secondary to primary maybe one 1mm out certainly not a lot out taking into account its resting on nails /moving it round with your fingers

I try and get mine more or less spot on at a distance of 20 feet or so.

Since I've moved from an F/4.8 to an F/5.3 I've hardly used the laser though. The Cheshire seems to do the job pretty well plus some fine tuning using star testing.

John when you adjust doing the star test do you just adjust primary mirror
