Did some close up on the moon with a 2X barlow mounted on a 5x powermate:

Does anyone know how to take more natural images?

They're excellent images. I'm not sure what you mean by "more natural". Unless you've been there to see for yourself, how do you know what "natural" is?

Look ok to me i think the high mag gives them the un natural look try some with out the high mag

They're great closeup images ! The last one is incredible.

Were they single frames or did you stack a number of them?

Natural is definitely a difficult thing to aim for and the definition must differ between people! I agree with the above comment that a lower magnification may be better for a more natural look (whatever that is).

I stack 3000 frames in Registax.

I am aiming to get a close up like yours Dan, I saw that you use an IR filter is it helping?

Yeh the IR pass helps but I use a little monochrome camera thats basically a webcam. Not sure if an IR pass will work the same with a dslr or not maybe someone else can answer??

The waxing crescent phase is a dream for closeup images imo. Lots of cool features but you can also get the horizon and the sky in there which gives perspective (just my observation not sure if others will agree )

Maybe reduce the contrast a little? They look awesome anyway, and the Plato one looks realistic anyway
