Mars - 2.00am 6th Nov - RGB - DMK - First Ever Image Of This Planet

This is my first go at imaging Mars. 130mm APO , DMK camera.

Even with a 5X PowerMate barlow ( F30) its still a bit small. I think it needs F40 to F50 to get a decent scale.

At least some detail is visible.

F30 is OK on Saturn but needs to be about F40 to F50 for Mars.

I think you're being hard on yourself John. There's a lot of detail there.

You can see the class of your scope in this image John. Everything you would want is in this image.

You will up the image scale at f40/50, but the longer focal length will dim the image further, so exposure times will need to balance that, I think.

The more expert of planet imaging will correct me perhaps.

Hope to have another go soon. With 30 frames/sec it does not take long to get the separate RGB images done
