I tried getting Panstarrs onto my stellarium following the how to on another post, but when i get to the solar system editor i have a box saying that it is a work in progress and can't go no further.

I have version 0.11.2 at start up,do i need to update this version??

Cheers.

It works on version 0.11.4 (on my laptop) and version 0.12.0 (on the Win8 desktop PC). Just followed through the update and viola there was PanSTARRS in the west. Just update Stellarium and hopefully you'll be sorted.

I have just updated to 0.11.4 version and i am still getting the same, work in progress, box coming up.??

I am on IE,Vista laptop.

I suggest you do an uninstall and then for good measure delete any Stellarium folders left over then a fresh install with what ever version you need, either the 0.12 or the 11.4 you just downloaded and try that.

I have done all that now and got version 0,12.0installed and am still getting the same -

An interface for adding asteroids and comets to Stellarium. It can download object lists from the Minor Planet Center's website and perform searches in its online database. Still a work in progress.

Is there anything in this thread on the Stellarium forum that might help:

You can enter the comet data manually by modifying the ssystem.ini file. The data required is in that thread. But it would be much easier to get the plugin working.

Also a video tutorial here just in case you missed a step perhaps (i'm clutching at straws):
