March planetary nebulae.

Having observed the clouds I had a look through old notebooks on what to look at next time out:

NGC1535 is "Cleopatra's Eye" in Eridanus to the rhs of Rigel, to the south of the stunning Keid.At higher mags, it gives an almost photographic image of a complex p/n, similar to the Eskimo.

IC418 is " The Spirograph " in Lepus, pale blue, the centre star needs x100. check out R.Lep, Hind's Crimson star nearby.

IC3568 in Camelopardalis is the "Lemon Slice", you should be able to pull some colour and the red giant central star.

Have a go !

Hoping for some clearer skies as off to the New Forest ,

Nick.

Also in Camelopardalis there's NGC 1501, with a visual magnitude of 11.5 and size 52".

Just able to detect it with my small 80mm F/5 scope. Next time I'll use a narrowband or OIII filter on this object, or else use a bigger scope.
