Hi Guys,

Quick question.

Do you meet up socially/during the day to swop experiences?

I have various health challenges that means I can't lift anything heavy at present (I.e. scope, mount head, etc), but would like to join in the fun somehow... I have a permanent setup at home which allows me to observe without having to setup myself.

Thanks and Clear Skies,

Sam

Hi Sam

We have been an observing based group only so far.obviously we share our experiences on here. I hadn't given any thought to a social side yet I must admit.

I suppose there's no reason why we couldn't meet up occasionally at a pub for a chat. We did meet up once at "The Wotton Hatch" when Mel (Astro baby) restarted the group.

Of coarse you are more than welcome to turn up at any meetings at RC there's normally a few scopes there and we always share views :)

Given the weather its maybe not a bad idea. I wouldnt use the Wooton Hatch again unless anyone prefers it. There are nicer pubs around. The Hatch has gone right downhill since we started the group there. A bit further up the A25 is the Jolly Farmer which is nicer.

Too true. At least we could chat astronomy even if we cant see the stars!

Sounds like a good idea. I'd be up for it. I have no idea about the pubs in the area though. Is the Jolly Farmer the pub between Reigate and Dorking?

Hi Guys,

thanks for all your responses!

I can make next week too at Gomshall (I think that's where the suggestions ended up). - just state time and day. Saturday 2nd is the only night I can't do.

cheers and clear skies,

Sam
