Which EQDIR cable for upgraded EQ5 mount

I have just added a goto upgrade to my EQ5.

I would like to add an eqdirect cable and want to just make sure that I have the correct one.

Does it plug into the St4 port of the goto upgrade consol?

The EQDIRECT plugs into the mount's handcontroller port not the ST-4 port.

All the EQDIR cables I have come across advertise that they are compatible with the EQ6 or HEQ 5

Are all the HEQ 5 ones compatible with the EQ 5 goto kit ?

The Eq5 uses the same eqdir module as the Heq5 Pro

So far there are only two types of mount connector used, 9 way D and RJ45 and the pinouts of each are the same across all the synscan/syntrek mounts.

When it comes to commercial EQDIRECT solutions there two approaches taken. Some vendors supply a 'generic' EQDIRECT into which you plug a cable specific to your mount type. Others produce separate EQDIRECTs for each mount/connector type.

In your case you need an EQDIRECT soltion that terminates in a RJ45 plug.
