Two finder bases on a refractor

Is it easy to fit additional finder bases on a refractor? I'm looking to fit an additional 9x50 finder and want to install a second finder base.

Can you drill the tube without impacting on the light path?

If you drill the tube close to where the focuser fits then I see no reason why it would impact the light path as long as you didn't use 2" bolts to fit it

There were those 2-to-1 finder foot adaptors that someone posted a link to the other day which would save drilling the tube at all. I'll see if I can find the link.

Look good but as u say bit pricey for what they are. I don't mind drilling tube as I want to upgrade stock focused in due course.

But then there is the moonlite (drawl)

I fitted a 9x50 r/a to my tal 100, i drilled the tube, fitted the skywatcher shoe, and kept the original tal finder, though i rarely use the tal finder now
