Heq5 pro noise levels?

Just been messing with my new heq5 indoors. Powered it up and after the initial 'beep' the mount continues to make a low pitch noise even when doing 'nothing'.

Is this normal? It's not loud or anything, just I was surprised it wasn't silent when stationary.

Well actually maybe it is not tracking before you do a star alignment, but anyway my NEQ-6 isnt dead silent when setting up either.

Mine is the same. It is normal. The sound is louder when it starts to slew then after the beep the low hum as you described. Your neighbours will sleep through this

When its not "doing anything" it is actually tracking - one revolution in 24 hours roughly so its difficult to see! Let it run for 15mins and you will see that the movement!

As others have said, it's normal :-)

Eventually you'll be listening out for that quiet repetitive noise as evidence that it's actually tracking and not stationary
