tips and advice on M45

really struggling with gradients with my scope and camera combo. looking for some honest advice on this image i have taken tonight. slightly croped processed in Ps cs6

subs was 37x100 secs

ISO 800

unmodded 450D

having a few issues with double diffraction spikes.

no flats just darks will have a go at flats but never have been very succesfull flats before though

Just remember to take your flats without altering the optical train. Once mastered you will see a massive improvement.

For flats i usually just wait wil the next day when it's light, and simply point the sope stright up in the sky (asuming there's no clouds there), set camera in AV mode, and that's it. no t-shirt, white-box or anything like that is needed.

Though, don't remove the camera from the scope or change the focus.
