Transporting Skywatcher Explorer 200P

Had the above scope for around three months and am thinking of taking a trip to the Brecon countryside. Any advice on telescope cases and/or bags for transportation purposes would be much appreciated. Can anyone organize a few more clear nights for 2013?

I don't worry about a case mate. I just put the OTA on the back seat with the dust caps on one fasten it in place with the seat belts. The tripod goes in the boot. Never had a problem with that.

Same here,OTA on the back seat,seat belted in,base in the boot.

As above but try and pack some pillows around it to absorb as much of the bumps and vibration as possible

Yep as the others have just put OTA on back seat well padded with whatever you have & rest in the boot. Have kept the box our current Dob OTA came in to use that but not required such for smaller scope.

Slung in the back of the van , laid on cheap pillows and wrapped in a cheap duvet .

Pillows, foam, blankets - anything that cushions vibration and shock will keep the ota fine for travel. The mounts are mostly robust enough but I put mine on a foam sheet in the boot - just to prevent slipping mostly as well as a little cushioning from road bumps. Some folks use the original box packing from when it was purchased (where practical).
