Transporting Skywatcher Explorer 200P

Recommended Posts

Had the above scope for around three months and am thinking of taking a trip to the Brecon countryside. Any advice on telescope cases and/or bags for transportation purposes would be much appreciated. Can anyone organize a few more clear nights for 2013?

Always go to the toilet before you get in a lift.

Pillows, foam, blankets - anything that cushions vibration and shock will keep the ota fine for travel. The mounts are mostly robust enough but I put mine on a foam sheet in the boot - just to prevent slipping mostly as well as a little cushioning from road bumps. Some folks use the original box packing from when it was purchased (where practical). :)
