Hello all,

I tried some planetary imaging last year but didn't have much success. Thought I'd give it another go this winter, and started last night with Jupiter. Used SharpCap with an SPC900 webcam, post processing with Registax 6.

As always, any advice is gratefully received.

Don't understand why the colour would be off. My SPC900 doesn't render colour like that. What camera settings were you using? (SharpCap will save these with the image if you configure it to do so. I don't know if it does by default.)

Would an ir/UV filter help?

Might do. I use an IR filter on mine, but as much to keep the sensor clean as anything else, having spent quite some time getting rid of every single speck of dust I could find on it.
