Jupiter 23rd November 2012: Good stability, rubbish transparency.

Tonight has had some very stable skies around Oxford. However, with the encroching fog and the general atmospheric transparency being pretty low it made it tough to image.

Of all the images I've managed to get tonight, I think that this is probably the best. Not as washed out as later on and not as fuzzy as earlier.

Lovely colour in that Jupiter, and loads of interesting detail!

I;d agree it was quite fuzzy earlier tonight, and I found it got better as the night went on. Moon was dipping behind my hous latere, so I was at least getting some relief from that for a while before I packed up.

Really great seeing tonight for me too. Looking forward to seeing what everyone's done with the good conditions. GRS on show too!

Having re-processed all my images using my Powermate 2.5x barlow, I can find only one which rivals the detail in that smaller image...
