I count what I think are at least four others I'm afraid, Richard

Limb 11 o'clock (two or three there, actually). limb 3 o'clock, close to centre 4 o'clock, close to centre 9 o'clock (very small., this one).

How come you have sun, anyhow? I've already seen three arks go past this morning. I'm wondering if I'm a bit late starting mine.

That's a bummer 'cos I cannot see the others you mention even though you have pointed them out! I know my eyesight is bad but ........ on well, time to give it all up I guess

The size suggests to me that the dirt isn't on the camera sensor though. Perhaps something on the eyepiece?

All I noticed was that incredible AR in the middle, we need a good X class from it now to give a super aurora by the weekend

Yes, I forgot in all the excitement It's an excellent image of that active region, especially in the last one. Nice that at least someone caught it.

Spectacular image, especially the nice sun spot group in the middle. I have been in Dundee for work today, saw the sun and I see from my night sky cam it is clear at home but will be too late for me to anything as. Am stuck on a train. I might take my Lunt to work tomorrow if it looks like it is going to be clear.

SDO says AR1618 is crackling with M class flares and suggests that something will be coming our way soon for a weekend aurora.
