Was aligning my scope, thank god or would have missed this cracker.

11.15 ish came down north edge of ursa major 3 secs with some debris flaring off pretty damn bright.

that was the second meteor of the night.

Great viewing up here this evening completely clear out there, got an early start tomorrow so have hung it up for the night. Bit of a messier marathon tonight but could not bag the crab, think i had it but could not be sure.

Loving my circles and wixey, it is so easy to get around the sky.

My advice going forward will be for any newb asking what scope etc.

1) dobsonian - easy viewing angles you don't have to be a contortionist

2) setting circle and wixey - you don't need goto push to is pretty accurate save the money and buy better eyepieces or get bigger aperture

Very happy bunny tonight orion neb is still my fave.

We are staying at Olly Penrice's place in France and saw a brilliant fireball just where you mention but at about 11.30pm french time which would have been 10.30 your time in the UK.

One of us saw a double tail and it was incredibly bright. You mention that you saw an earlier one - perhaps it was this one we saw.
