EQMOD Installation help please

I am trying to install EQMOD on my laptop, which already has the ASCOM platform on it. I have been following the Utube video and have got to trhe point where the set up looks for which port your PC is connected to the mount. Every time I try this it says searching, gets to COM6 and stalls. The PC shows a message saying the program is not responding (and I have try to let it run on for several minutes). When I close the set up window, I get the windows script host message on the left in the screen shot below. Does any one have any ideas??

If you goto Control panel > Device manager and look at the properties of the comms port you will see what number has been assigned to it so you can enter the value yourself.

Have you got the prolific usb-serial driver installed? If so EQmod can autodiscover the com port used by the driver.

Thanks Kev and Kirkster. I have got it working now, what I did not realise is that I had to reconect the hand set, go to Utilites>Direct PC controll.
