What would be a good next upgrade for me ?

Recommended Posts

I use the Toucam Pro II for planetary + the 600D as well, i have had some 'fairly' good results with the 600D on DSO's as well, my kit is in my sig but i'm looking at upgrading or buying something new to improve things photographically for me, what would be a good choice ?

The items i have been looking at are so far a DFK 21AU618.AS Colour, CLS Clip filter, Guidscope kit Celestron 80mm Guidescope Package, extra counter weight (as i only have one), a few filters but not sure which ones. A new mount is out of the question though at this time.

Any advice good or bad welcome.

I'm glad no one said 'the missus' , well a planetary upgrade i guess, i have doubts about my Canon producing good planetary shots as good as a CCD could from what ive read on here so maybe help in that dept would be good ?

Cheers guys, my laptop has usb2 ports & one called i S400 which i beleive is a firewire port, if i bought the DMK 21AU618.AS Mono (+ filters / wheel) i assume the imaging time for say jupiter (2 minutes) before rotation becomes a problem gets divided between the 3 filters or 4 ? so do you image for say approx 40 secs per filter or can you do longer & if so do i then need to master say Winjupo ?

For ease of use yet good results i think my best bet is the DFK 21AU618.AS Colour ?

For the best results use mono, filters and de rotate in winjupos. If you don't want the expense of filters and complication of processing you can get some pretty good results with a OSC.

I think Bob's knobs are only available direct for him in US.

Thanks Freddie, i'm not against using a Mono cam, learning new software does not phase me & i'm sure the quality would superceed a OSC cam, i have just taken a look at some filter sets could you or anyone else take a look & advise me please ?

1) http://www.firstlightoptics.com/rgb-filters-filter-sets/baader-rgb-filter-set-with-ir-cut.html £73.00

2) http://www.firstlightoptics.com/rgb-filters-filter-sets/baader-lrgbc-ccd-filter-set.html £164.00

I assume shooting at 60fps 640 x 480 (when possible) out weighs shooting @ 30 fps 1024 x 768 ie using the DMK 31AU03.AS Mono ?
