Atik 314L or QHY9?

HI Guys

Hoping to go to the Peak star party next week and checkout a ccd for imaging and spectro. I like the look of the Atik 314l and Qhy9 with the latter having 8.6megs. I`d also like to get the usb filter wheel if the Star analyser will fit inside and if I can get the chip to grating distance ok. I know the 314 has a good spectro following but I`ve not heard of anyone trying spectro with the QHY9 anyone tried it please?. The Starlight Xpress SXVR-H9 looks a nice one too.

I'm a satisfied user of the 314L+, but on paper the specs for the QHY9 look impressive. You may need that binning option for longer focal lengths.

The USB filter wheel I think may be problematic with the grating....it seems to be designed for a close fit to the camera. getting close to the 60mm or so you'd need may cause other problems with your set-up.....

Yes they look like excellent camera`s Olly!. I seem to remember reading that Atik had some Win 7 driver issues I assume they have ironed them out now?

Although I haven't yet run ours in Win7 I've had guests doing so very happily.
