AstroArt5 Tutorials ?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Had a quick look through the Tutorial / Primer section to see if there was anything on AstroArt V5, but couldn't see anything. Does anyone know where i can find some free tutorials on the basics of the package, so i can have a proper play around with the demo.

Rich.

If you were to try PixInsight I could point you to some. I have both AA5 and PI although I use PI more. For AstroArt you just got to search and do lots of reading of the help files, which actually are pretty good. I never did find any tutorials to get me going. I now know how to stack and control camera / focus / guide but that's about it in AA5 as it's all I really need. Check out the help it's probably all you need.

There's tons of good stuff in the AA5 manual. It covers everything you'll really need to know. There are tutorials for the more common process steps.

(having said all that, I'm not sure if you can access the manual via the demo copy????)

Hi Martin, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any manual that is accessible in the demo.

Olly, many thanks for the offer it's very kind of you. i'm just looking for a very basic tutorial on taking a taking a set of LRGB images, with auto guiding and using a auto focuser. I know it sounds silly but I couldn't see where I would see where to setup the job for LRGB runs.

i've also noticed that a lot of people don't use it for acquisition, and I'm curious why they don't.

At the moment I use maxim dl, ccd commander, focus max, eqascom, phd and I just want simplify it down to maybe have 1 program running most functions alongside eqascom.

NLO, I did see the option of buying the ip4ap tutorials but I didn't really want to buy just in case I don't like astroart. I essentially want to do the other way round a get some tutorials and guide me through the basics to see if i like the package, the I would possibly look to buy the tutorials later on.

Olly has kindly offered to help, so if he manages to do me a few screen prints explaining how to setup a LRGB run with a few exposures on each filter then I'll be a happy man.

Rich
