Last night at Blaenavon

Well where to start. Arrived just before the light faded. and got the last of the sunset as the oranges and reds disappered to the west.

Scope set up and hallo's said to old and new, Great to see so many there.

Got chatting to some passerbyes to start the evening and sent them on their way with smiles. Then as the sky darkened could see we was in for a fantastic evening.

Triangle was first to appear so barings could be taken, then just spoilt for choice.

Andromedia with naked eye, Double cluster in Cassiopa. The ring and dumbell. M13 as I have never seen it before from Mats latest beast. The wild duck. M15 and M81 all found with Telrad and finder.

The Milky way with Binos was just amazing, gave up counting the stars when I got to 2 Trillion. Even got to see the brightest stars of The Teapot inSagittarius. (never seen before so a highlight).

Waited 5 years for last night and boy was it worth the wait

Congratulations on what sounds like a great night's observing. Bet you still have a very wide smile due to your very productive night ? Oh how I wish for dark skies. Well done you. I am a bit jealous ha.

Last night was a great one! I had the best view of Jupiter I have aver had thanks to some new kit from Mike and Grahame. The sky was astonishingly dark and I saw a lot more detail in the Dumbbell than I have ever seen from my garden!

Glad you had a great night.

I was all set to go there myself for a first visit, but had a balance issue with my setup in the obsy that I just had to resolve.

By the time I sorted it it was to late.
