Does a truss dob need a shroud?

Been offered a Meade Lightbridge 8" at a knockdown price and I'm tempted to snap it up, but will I need to buy or make a shroud, do truss dobs always need a shroud?

Yes. It will greatly improve the views and prevent you accidentily dropping things onto the primary mirror.

also if you plan to use for solar [with a badder filter ]it def needs a shroud , i use a neoprene roll [old tent base with velcro ] cut to size and a smaller bit for dew shield for the secondary mirror on a flextube 200
