First light imaging from the Dome IC5146

At last took the day off , and completely changed my warm room Obs around , so it can operate the scope in the Dome , took a long while getting all the cables through neatly, but all done now ,up and running,just have to pick up the guiding equipment from Bern at the end of the month.

Really nice tonight as there was a slight breeze ,but no probs now all cosy was the scope in the Dome and no stray lights for a change,

So my first image from the Dome , picked an easy target . the Cocoon nebula , very please as i have picked up the dark lane from top centre of the cocoon to the top right of the frame.

Exposure time 1 hr 20 mins , subs around 60 secs, processed in Maxim SD mask, to eleminate the hot pixels.

thats a real impact photo, makes you realise just how many stars are out there.

Little belter that one. Cocoon is an apt description for it.

Great shot from the Celedome Rog. Can't wait for you getting the guiding stuff going 'cos your images are going to be AWESOME!
