Are you going to use this for imaging or guiding ?

I bought it as a guider but untill I get a dedicated ccd I'm going to use it for imaging with the ed80 just do 2 min subs with the eq6

Haha!! the beast is nearly complete!! cant wait to see your images danny. I've made up my mind after talking to you today... finally!! I'm gonna go for the skywatcher 150 newt, heq5 syntrek ( with the EQDIR) and the QHY8L I'm just gonna get bit by bit starting with the O.T.A.

Can I ask why you bought this and not the Lodestar ?

Brightstar is cooled. Lodestar is not, and the price is nearly equal. (althought mammut is bigger and not narrow). Both have the same CCD.
