I just thought I'd share my recent Mars map with you all. Goodness me, the weather has been so bad that I've not been in my observatory since April!!!! Worst summer I can remember!

@mike The map is based in my observations for the whole of the apparition.I started observations on 2nd September 2011 and finished on 12th May 2012.

this is possibly the most useful map of Mars for visual observers I have ever seen. I presume you'd not mind it being printed and used in the future? (obviously I'll need to keep it safe for a couple of years!).

It is a lovely map. I'm intrigued as to how you got to the cylindrical projection. Is that something that comes with practice or do you have computational help?
