Monday June 18, first time with 10" dob

10.30pm, sky still not very dark. Got my setting circles on the base and was using inclinometer on Android phone held to ota. Found great cluster in hercules, ring nebula and a couple of others which I forgot. Totally delighted, only downside is my levelling base is too high, was viewing at an awkward position, gonna try to sort it out tomorrow. Cannot wait for autumn and m42 and Jupiter in the 10" and the bv's had a great 45 minutes til the cloud rolled in.

Great stuff a 10" really starts to pull out some serious detail in some globs eh?

How do you find it compares to the 8" in your signature?

You picked it up at a good time....ever shortening days for the next 6 months. M42 with 10 inches is stunning under good skies.
