First shot with 1100D

I had a chance to shoot the ISS with my new 1100D tonight - I got a fairly decent image for a casual first attempt. The settings were:

- 15 second shot at ISO 100 and f/7 aperture.

I'm really looking forward to letting it loose on the Milky Way and some dimmer satellites and maybe some widefield DSOs.

Thanks! Conditions weren't great, but for a first experimentation, it came out nicely! I think there are a lot of ISS passes coming up for me - perfect timing!

I'd recommend it - it seems to be able to do everything and anything I'm just looking at the rain outside though - go away!!!

Where do I find out when the ISS is going to pass overhead? I'd like to have a look at it.

You can go to http://heavens-above.com/ and make an account - it will give you pass predictions for pretty much any satellite. Once you sign up, click on 'ISS' on the homepage, and it will give you the times, magnitudes, length, etc... of every visible pass.

Hi nice image well framed,if you use a tripod camera or other 30secs should not be a prob get lots and stack them easily done with this camera

Hi Pat! Yeah, I've seen some awesome results in this forum with DSLRs, and I'm gonna be staying up late when the stars finally come out again, so that I can have a go at the milky way!
