NGC6960; The Witches Broom through high clouds

Recommended Posts

The last couple of days provided excelent summer weather in The Netherlands, with accomodating clear nights as well, although Saturday night high cloud rolled in at night fall.

But at 1:30 AM, the sky still showed plenty of stars and I decided to star imaging NGC 6960, part of the Veil Nebula Complex, as it had *** up out of light polution.

I was quite surprised on how this came out, considering the high clouds that were present (see Sat24 screen shot taken during exposure of frame 2 or 3).

Very nice capture!

I know it was through high cloud, but it looks to my eye that the contrast could be improved a bit to reveal the nebula a bit more? 52 Cygni & its halo will be very tricky to control though...
