I have a Celestron se8 with an F10. I also have a meade DSI. I was wondering is a Meade LPI would allow me to view the whole moon or sun in one shot. I cannot achieve this with the DSI? Any help would be appreciated

You can calculate the focal length or sensor size required to image the sun or moon from this formula; D (diameter of sun/moon) = focal lenght of telescope/110. Your 8SE has a focal length of 2035mm, therefore will produce an image about 21mm in diameter at prime focus.

If you get the Ocular plug-in for Stellarium you can load in your scope details , eyepieces and even camera specs and it will show you what can be seen/ captured with any combination of kit you have, it's great....:clouds2:
